Family BBQ Hickory Pit is built on hard work, heart, and community. Originally known as Emil Villa’s Hick’ry Pit—a Livermore favorite for decades—our restaurant has grown into something even more meaningful. Inocencio started here in 2000 as an 18-year-old dishwasher. After years of dedication, working his way up from busboy to cook to server, he became the proud owner in 2023. His story is a true American Dream—moving from Mexico, learning English, and building a life through perseverance and passion. Family is at the heart of everything we do. Inocencio’s wife and children help out, and many of our team members have been with us for over 30 years. Their loyalty and love are the backbone of this restaurant. In early 2025, we moved to a new location to better serve you. While we’ll miss our old building, it needs major upgrades we can’t afford. The new space will allow us to keep bringing you the same great BBQ—with room to grow. We’ve faced challenges like rising costs and staff shortages, but your support keeps us going.
